據多家英國媒體報道，英國首相特拉斯剛剛在英國首相府前發表講話，宣布自己將辭去英國保守黨黨首的職務，並表示英國保守黨將在下周選出新一任黨首，在那之前自己將繼續留任。
由於保守黨是英國的執政黨，其黨首即是英國首相。所以特拉斯宣布辭去黨首，即是辭去了首相職務。
在辭職講話中，特拉斯表示英國面臨著許多問題，她被選上臺原本是要解決這些問題的，但她目前已經無法這麽做。
